It is with great honour and pride, that the Professional Clothing Awards 2019 are once more delighted to announce their fruitful partnership with the Portuguese Textile Industry for the third year running. The titans of the Portuguese Textile Industry – ANIVEC (the Portuguese Association of Clothing and Apparel Industry) and CENIT (Centro de Inteligência Têxtil) – are thrilled to be working in partnership with the Professional Clothing Awards, to celebrate the PCA’s 10th anniversary in June of this year.
The prestigious Awards will take place on the 19th June 2019 at the Montcalm Marble Arch, London. This is the following day from the highly-anticipated PCIAW Summit on the 18th June 2019, and will serve as the more formal networking event of the two days. Whilst the Summit is noted to be an informative and edifying day of presentations, debates, forums and networking, the Professional Clothing Awards is promised to be the more glamorous of the two, with drinks and dancing mixed amongst the business.
2019 will celebrate the Professional Clothing Awards 10th anniversary and, to mark the occasion, the evening will be conducted with a stylish 1920’s theme. Attendees will be encouraged to dress the part, with ladies adorned in flapper dresses and pearls, and men in bowties and shined shoes.
César Araújo, Board Director of PCIAW, President of ANIVEC and CEO of Calvelex has observed the profound contribution the PCAs gives to the Professional Clothing Industry, and indeed the Portuguese Textile Industry as a whole – causing it to grow by 7% in just six months. Last year, César Araújo commented, “The gala is pure innovation. In 2017, we were able to join 400 industry figures from all over the world, which represent purchases of more than 4 billion euros. We are delighted to once more be in partnership with this vital networking event, as it is an undiluted celebration of the achievements and successes of our life-saving industry.”
Also sponsoring the PCAs this year are Gerber Technology, PDC BIG and YKK, amongst many others. The highly successful clothing and uniform supplier, Sugdens, will also be celebrating their 150th birthday at the prestigious awards ceremony – making it an evening of celebrations all round!
The joy of the Professional Clothing Awards 2019 comes from the direct celebration of the achievement of the hundreds who attend. The Professional Clothing Awards includes categories such as PPE Innovation of the Year, Best Managed Contract and Lifetime Achievement Award. 2019 will also see the return of the hugely successful PCA Vision, made up of the Student Design Award, the CORDURA® Durability Award and the YKK Award.
John Miln, Chairman of the PCIAW, added, “There has never been a more imperative time for the industry to come together as one single voice to face the future that lies ahead of us. We take pride in announcing two dynamic events – the PCIAW Summit which will assemble key industry experts to educate and inform on the most pressing topics that face our industry today, and the Professional Clothing Awards which will celebrate the innovation of our industry and recognise the talent that makes our industry extraordinary. The PCAs have been supported by many companies over the years and we would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to all those who have helped the Professional Clothing Awards grow. We are also thrilled that ANIVEC and CENIT have decided to partner with us again in 2019, and could not be more overjoyed to work closely with them in bringing together the entire supply chain of our industry.”
