Continuing with our look at the speakers addressing the PCIAW® summit, the focus today falls on Samantha Heilling.
Samantha Heilling had never even considered the role uniforms play in her business, let alone that there was a professional clothing industry until she was asked to introduce a new uniform for the UK Border Force. And, after a rollercoaster twelve months, she rolled out a brand new uniform to 11,000 staff across the UK and beyond.
The uniform was commended as a totemic change for good by her Director General and has had a strong impact on staff morale.
The design and rollout was shortlisted for an equality and diversity award, as well as an excellence award and it went on to win three awards at the 2014 Professional Clothing awards including Business Buyer of the Year and highly commended in 2016.
Her passion for the industry remains and she aims to demystify the tender process for buyers and suppliers and to raise the profile of the professional workwear industry with buyers.
Her day job is in the public sector, contributing to projects and policies which contribute to community safety and prosperity and her background is in Programme Management and Leadership.
